Sabbats
History:

Balefire: A synonymous word of 'Bonfire', a balefire is a communal bonfire of the Sabbats, most notably used at Beltane, Litha and Lughnasadh.
Bane: A negative force or energy. Another word for bad, negative, or in opposition.

Almost evenly spaced around the Wiccan Wheel of the Year are the eight Wiccan feast days, or sabbats. The sabbat cycle is a retelling and celebration of the age-old story of the Great Goddess and her son and consort, the Horned God.

This eight-pointed symbol marks the important holidays or Sabbats in the Wiccan Ritual Calendar and is derived from the Sunwheel or Solarcross, a pre-Christian European calendar used to mark Equinoxes and Solstices.
