Satanism
The worship of Satan, using rites which travesty Christian rites. If involves black magic, sorcery, and the invocation of demons and the forces of darkness, who are propitiated by blood sacrifices and similar rites.

Satan
The name Satan originates from the Hebrew word sawtawn meaning "adversary." In the early books of the Old Testament before the Jews were forced into exile in Babylon during the 6th century BC the word satan was merely an adversary or opponent.
