Simony

Simony is a common term meaning the buying and selling of sacred things. The term originated with Simon Magus when he offered to give St. Peter money to be able to give people the ability to speak in tongues. A.G.H.

The Principle of Parsimony (Occam's Razor) states that the hypothesis that includes the largest number of facts and observations will be closest to the truth. Hypotheses that do not accept many facts without "special pleading" should be discarded.

On the 29th May, 1415, this Pontiff was solemnly deposed by the Council of Constance as being given to simony, impudent, a secret poisoner, and a spendthrift of the wealth of the Church; and was imprisoned in the castle of Heidelberg.

It is a doctrine of divine parsimony and conservation of energy, because of the stress, the terror and the manifest impertinences of this life.
