Vibrations
A mystery still remains as to the relationship between vibrations and psychic phenomena. Vibrations are recognized as invisible operators within conversations, singing, and music.
The vibrations that the body is able to receive, it transmits to physical centres, belonging to its highly complicated nervous system.
That vibrations are excited by sound is beautifully exemplified by the eidophone, an instrument invented, I believe, by Mrs. Watts-Hughes, and with which I have seen that lady experiment.
As the rate of vibrations (molecular motion) in metals, woods, crystals, etc., alters under the effect of heat, cold, etc., so do the cerebral molecules change their rate, in the same way: i.e., their rate is raised or lowered.
Earthquakes are vibrations produced in the earth's crust when rocks in which elastic strain has been building up suddenly rupture, and then rebound. The vibrations can range from barely noticeable to catastrophically destructive.
