The acknowledgement and delineation of historical circumstances have always been critical for contextualizing treatments of race and gender in art.

Despite the precise delineation of objects, sometimes approaching trompe l'oeil in the work of Nagel, their paintings were not naturalistic.

Through each of the delineations run a convergence line from the vanishing point through the point and well beyond. This will give you a series of lines on the floor running back to the vanishing point.

Techniques vary widely with sharp delineation achieved with pencil and or pen/ink. Watercolor generally gives a more delicate effect, and more painterly effects can be created with wax crayon, chalk, pastel, and charcoal.

The cow in the painting is only hinted at, with its delineation formed by several jagged lines of varying width, color and also of apparent texture. Dali has "feathered" some lines, while others appear to be made of powder.

Common aesthetic design principles include ornamentation, edge delineation, texture, flow, solemnity, symmetry, color, granularity, the interaction of sunlight and shadows, transcendence, and harmony.

Suddenly the representation of animals became so frequent in Lombardy that it was assumed that their delineation was an integral part of artistic training there.
