Greenware
When clay is hard, but not yet fired it is referred to as greenware. The clay can be made wet and turned back into a useable material.

 


Greenware*
Unfired pottery or sculpture
Grisaille
A MONOCHROME painting executed entirely in shades of gray. A grisaille may be done as a finished painting or as an UNDERPAINTING. See also EN CAMAIEU.

GREENWARE clay in an unfired state.
GRID network of crossing lines used to create a regular pattern.
GUIDELINES lines an artist makes that help "guide" the drawing. Usually these are not seen in the final piece.

greenware - Generally refers to unfired pottery, although sometimes the term is used to specify Chinese stoneware with a high-fired green glaze. Also see bone dry and leather-hard.
green wood - Lumber that is not fully dried.
