French Neoclassism painters emphasis's patriotism, as well as a sense of civility and honorableness. The movement was particularly connected with the beliefs of the French Revolution and was seen as anti-aristocratic.
Eventurally NeoClassism will be absorbed by the Romantic movement creating a kind of NeoClassic Romanticism that will dominate the French Royal Accademy of Art and be part of a conservative/reactionary force in Europen art in general.
This idealism, like Neoclassism, was encouraged by the French Revolution, thus some artists were affected by both styles.
