Definition:
A secondary color is a color made by mixing two primary colors together: red and yellow to get orange, yellow and blue to get green, or red and blue to get purple.

Secondary colors
The colors obtained by mixing equal amounts of two primary colors. The secondary colors in pigment are orange, green, and violet; in light, they're magenta, yellow, and cyan.

Complimentary colors
Secondary colors opposite primary colors and vice versa on the color wheel. Red is the compliment of green, orange the compliment of blue, purple the compliment of yellow.

France. Pointillism is a technique that uses points of primary color to create secondary colors and to increase color intensity. Divisionism is similar, but concentrates more on color theory instead of brushstrokes.

Orange, green, and purple, the secondary colors resulting from mixing pairs of primaries, lie between them. Colors opposite each other in the spectrum-red and green, purple and yellow, and orange and blue here - are complementary colors.

They employed a technique of juxtaposing dots of primary colors to achieve brighter secondary colors, with the mixture left to the eye to complete (pointillism).
