Tachisme: Art up-to-date, you merely let the paint do all the work. Splashing, sprinkling and riding over it with bicycles are the most popular forms.

Tachisme
Tachisme derived from the French word tache - stain, was a French style of abstract painting in the 1940s and 1950s. It is often considered to be the European equivalent to Abstract Expressionsim.

Tachism.
Term derived from the French word Tache [Stain or spot] to describe, in the mid-1950s, French lyrical painting of an abstract nature. Tachist works were sometimes relaetd to those of the American abstact Expressionists.

Tachisme
term coined in 1952 by the French critic Michel Tapie, for the technique of painting in irregular dabs (taches or spots) and in an apparently haphazard manner.

All the art movements of the 1960s (Tachisme, Color Field painting, Lyrical Abstraction, Fluxus, Pop Art, Minimalism, Postminimalism, Neo-expressionism) would be influenced by Abstract Expressionism.

Lyrical Abstraction is a French style of abstract painting current in the 1945 -1960. Very close to Art Informel, presents the European equivalent to Abstract Expressionism. The name Tachisme is sometimes used to describe the style.

Spatialism refers to the art movement founded by Lucio Fontana in New York City around the time of Abstract Expressionism. It combined ideas from Dada, Tachism and Concrete Art.
