Technique
Start in a standing position with your feet shoulder width apart and your knees relaxed.
Grasp a barbell with your hands also shoulder width apart.

Bicep Curl on Stability Ball

Another bicep curl variation is the correct curl where the palms are positioned on the barbell at the width they would land into once they are fully supinated.

Bicep curls, shoulder presses and tricep extensions are some of the exercises you can do at home using dumbbells. To work the chest, lay flat on your back, or on a bench, holding the dumbbells above your chest with arms extended up.

Here's the problem: You are doing dumbbell bicep curls with dumbbell handles at 25 lbs. each arm.

if you do a set of 10 bicep curls consecutively, that's 10 reps. During your first week or two, keep the weights very light so that you can complete about 15 reps in good form.

Say you are performing bicep curls. The lifting or curling up of the weight is usually the most difficult, so you would breath out (or exhale) as you curl the weights up towards your shoulders. Then inhale as you lower the weight down.

When pumping up before going on stage I will do some light, high rep, upper body exercises such as push ups, bent over rows, bicep curls, etc.. with a rubber fitness band.

It's no big deal if you're doing bicep curls; all you'll have to do is drop the weight onto the floor.

The best bet would be to stick to the basics - remember dead lifts, dumbbell presses, chins, squats, military presses and heavy bicep curls will never fail.
Give your body enough time to recover between workouts.
High nutritious diet is a must.
