Affecting the heart and respiratory system.
Cardiorespiratory endurance
The body's ability to sustain prolonged exercise.

Cardiorespiratory Endurance - The ability to maintain strenuous tasks involving large muscle groups for an extended period of time. It involves both the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

Cardiorespiratory fitness- Measure of the heart’s ability to pump oxygen-rich blood to the muscles. Also called cardiovascular or aerobic fitness.

CARDIORESPIRATORY FITNESS
This is the Physical fitness condition of the heart, circulatory system and lungs that is indicative of good aerobic fitness.

Also known as cardiorespiratory endurance, it refers to continuous rhythmic and or repetitive activities that put an increased oxygen demand on your heart, lungs and body systems.

There are two types of physical endurance: cardiorespiratory and muscular.

the whole reason you have a cardiorespiratory syatem is to bring nutrients and oxygen to the muscles and organs, and to take wastes away. "Cardio" is not something you exercise by itself- you have to move to do cardio, and moving requires muscle.

Cardiovascular exercise has received a lot of attention over the last 15 years as the centerpiece of physical fitness, weight management, and cardiorespiratory (heart and lung) health.

Aerobic (cardiorespiratory) fitness is the body's ability to use oxygen efficiently and depends upon the condition of your heart, lungs, and muscles.

The cardiovascular session, not including the warm-up and cool-down, should vary from 20-60 minutes to gain significant cardiorespiratory and fat burning-benefits. Each time you do your cardiovascular exercise, try to do at least 20 minutes or more.

The following guidelines are based upon "The Recommended Quantity and Quality of Exercise for Developing and Maintaining Cardiorespiratory and Muscular Fitness in Healthy Adults," American College of Sports Medicine Position Stand, 1990.

Benefits include an improved VO2 maximum (the highest amount of oxygen one can consume during exercise) and thus an improved cardiorespiratory system, ...

Aerobic Exercise
A method of conditioning the cardiorespiratory system by performing an activity that uses large muscle groups, is rhythmic, elevates the heart rate for a period of time, and increases the intake of oxygen.

Regular physical activity can also improve your cardiorespiratory (heart, lungs, and blood vessels) and muscular fitness. For older adults, activity can improve mental function.

Researchers are unclear as to why exercise improved the brain function of the walkers, but they speculate that the improved oxygenation of tissue afforded by increased cardiorespiratory fitness resulted in greater blood flow to the brain.

The women who increased their physical activity added about one mile a day of walking to their routine. Authors of the study say more physical activity could also improve cardiorespiratory fitness and reduce the risk of falls, fractures, ...
