The diuretic that I received was: Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ): a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention.

 


Diuretic A substance that aids the increase of urine excreted by the body.

Diuretics
A class of drugs used to force the kidney to excrete more sodium than usual. Increased sodium excretion causes increased water excretion, so urine volume increases.

Diuretic: An agent which helps increase the output of urine.
DOMS Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness: Muscle soreness from exercises that appears a day or two after working out.

DIURETICS
Sometimes called "water pills," these drugs and herbal preparations remove excess water from bodybuilder's system just prior to a show. This reveals greater muscular detail.

DIURETICS: Often taken to reduce blood pressure. Taking diuretics can lead to fatigue, dehydration, light-headedness.
DNF : Stands for "did not finish" and describes a runner who drops out of a race.

Try a diuretic
Pick up an over-the-counter remedy containing ammonium and caffeine, or an herbal diuretic containing goldenrod, corn silk, horsetail, juniper, or dandelion

Diuretics (water tablets) are not always the best solution as these can lead to dehydration and dizziness. A better solution is to cut down on salt and alcohol intake and increase potassium levels.

Diuretic
Any agent or compound that increases the flow of urine from the body. They can range from herbal teas to powerful drugs that flush out electrolytes and water. They are classed based on the location and mechanism of action in the kidneys.

Caffeine is a diuretic, meaning it causes a person to urinate (pee) more. It's not clear whether this causes dehydration or not.

Caffeine acts as a diuretic. It is often said that because of this drinking tea and coffee leads to fluid depletion, rather than a fluid increase.

Water intake was increased the day before the show in attempt to inhibit Anti-diuretic Hormone produced in the body.
