EVERSION: Movement of the sole of the foot outward; opposite of inversion.
EXOGENOUS: Developed or originating outside of the body.

Inversion injuries are far more common than eversion injuries due to the relative instability of the lateral joint and weakness of the lateral ligaments compared to the medial ligament. Eversion injuries are seen occasionally.

The ankle joint has the following normal ranges of movement: Plantar Flexion, Dorsi Flexion, Inversion and Eversion.
