Fat-Free Mass (FFM), also called Lean Body Mass (LBM), is the total amount of nonfat (lean) parts of the body. It consists of approximately 73% water, 20% protein, 6% minerals, and 1% ash.

The mass (weight) of the body (muscle, bone, skin and organs) that is not fat.

The form in which carbohydrates are stored in the body, mainly in the muscles and the liver.

Although fat-free mass increased in both groups, the slender guys gained only 0.7 pounds (0.3 kilograms) versus 3.5 pounds (1.6 kilograms) in the solid group.

supplements (20 to 25 g/d for 5 to 7-d and 2 to 25 g/d thereafter) on body composition alterations during training have reported significantly greater gains in total body mass regimens 10,29,37,57,61,63,66,77,84,95,104,115 and fat-free mass.

Creatine supplementation appears to increase body weight and lean body mass or fat-free mass, but these measurements do not distinguish between muscle growth and increased water content of muscle.

Both groups achieved significant strength gains; however, the supervised group also made significant improvements in body mass, fat mass and fat-free mass.
