Frontal Plane - which passes from side to side at right angles to the sagittal plane
Transverse Plane - any horizontal plane which is parallel to the diaphragm

FRONTAL PLANE: Imaginary line that divides the body into anterior and posterior halves; lies at a right angle to the sagittal plane.
FRUCTOSE: Fruit sugar.

Frontal Plane - Involves movements that occur laterally. This plane is defined by separating the body into "front and back."
Sagittal Plane - Involves movements of the body forward and backward.

The frontal plane splits your body front and back. If you stand and bend your body directly to the side, you're moving in the frontal plane.

The frontal plane is vertical and would divide the body into front and back. (I suppose you could also call this plane the "backal" plane.) Finally, there is the "sagittal" plane, which would divide the body into right and left.

The science Human movement happens on three geometric planes: the sagittal plane (front-back and up-down), the frontal plane (side-to-side), and the transverse plane (rotation).

Bend to the side and you target the frontal plane. Twist your torso and you hit the transverse plane.

they resist such a load retracting against a resistance on a transverse plane during general back exercises
or by upward rotation on a frontal plane during shoulder exercises ...
