Infraspinatus

Fitness InertiaInjury

The infraspinatus is the second most often injured rotator cuff muscle. It is assisted by the Teres Minor. See other rotator cuff muscles:
Teres Minor
Subscapularis
Supraspinatus ...

Infraspinatus - A muscle below ("infra") the spine.
Innervation - The degree or amount of stimulation of a muscle (or organ) by nerves.

To finish off the infraspinatus, hold a dumbbell in each hand, and perform a lateral raise to 90-degrees while keeping the elbows bent at 90-degrees.

Secondary muscles: the Trapezius, the Rhomboids (beneath the trapezius) and the Rotator-Cuff muscles (subscapularis, supraspinatus, teres minor and infraspinatus).

These tendons connect the main muscles of the shoulder-the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, subscapularis, and teres minor-to the upper arm. The rotator cuff tendons and muscles stabilize the shoulder joint and allow you to raise and rotate your arm.

The four muscles composing the Rotator Cuff are Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Teres Minor and Subscapularis. These muscles originate from various aspects of the scapulae and insert on the humerous.
