LBM = 200 - 20 = 180 lbs.
So this person has 20 lbs. of bodyfat, 180 lbs. of LBM and 10% bodyfat.

LEAN BODY MASS (LBM): Body weight minus body fat; composed of muscle, bone and other nonfat tissue.
LIGAMENT: Connective tissue that binds bone to bone, to maintain the integrity of a joint.
LIPID: Fat, or fat-like, substance.

Once you have your LBM, multiply it by 1.3. The number you get is the number of total daily protein intake. Divide this number by 6 and you'll get the grams of protein for each of your meals.

In short: diets plans I design for gaining LBM start with total calories and build macro nutrient ratios into the number of calories required.

The fat-free body mass (FFBM) represents the body mass devoid of all fat whereas lean body mass (LBM) contains a small percentage of essential fat. LBM is a theoretical value developed by Behnke.

The Harris Benedict equation has separate formulas for men and women because men generally have a higher LBM and this is factored into the men's formula.

Fat-Free Mass (FFM), also called Lean Body Mass (LBM), is the total amount of nonfat (lean) parts of the body. It consists of approximately 73% water, 20% protein, 6% minerals, and 1% ash.
