Ligament Strong, fibrous band of connecting tissue connecting two or more bones or cartilage or supporting a muscle, fascia or organ.
Lipids All fats and fatty acids.
Lipoprotein Fat carrying protein in the blood.

Ligament - A flexible, non-elastic tissue that connects bone to bone. For example, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the knee connects the kneecap to the femur (thigh) and the tibia (shin). Ligament injuries can be sprains or tears.

Ligament
A fibrous connective tissue that connects bone to bone or cartilage to bone, supporting and strengthening a joint.

Ligament - Tough fibrous connective tissue that connects bones to other bones. Similar to tendons, which connect bones to muscles. Ligaments can be gradually lengthen as they have some elasticity.

Ligaments
Ligaments are bands of connective tissue that bind bones to each other, crossing joints with wide ranges of motion as well as joints with little motion. Unlike tendons, both ends of ligaments insert into bone.

I had completely torn my anterior cruciate ligament in my left knee, 3 weeks prior to a competition and that began my journey to pre-operation rehabilitation.

How It Started: One too many injuries during the squat or lunge—but it was probably the result of accidentally rotating at the hips during a rep, which can cause ligament damage in the knee.

Just as the muscle tissue in your body strengthens when exposed to stress, the tendons, ligaments and other connective tissues in your body will also thicken in response to weightlifting.

Plenty of people get into car accidents, break a leg, tear a ligament, hurt their back, or worst. This doesn't stop the most committed from getting in shape. If you are hurt or injured talk to your doctor about what you can and can't do.

Once a muscle has reached its absolute maximum length, attempting to stretch the muscle further only serves to stretch the ligaments and put undue stress upon the tendons (two things that you do not want to stretch).

Ask if the injury is a muscle strain or tear, a tendon pull, a ligament sprain or an irritated bursa. Don't settle for a general diagnosis, such as, "Something in your hip is inflamed.

Another thing to keep in mind is that, as your pregnancy progresses, the hormones that your body produces cause your ligaments to stretch, increasing the chance of injury. Again, be gentle with yourself.

Pelvic floor prolapse refers to relaxation of the muscles and ligaments that hold the pelvic organs (uterus, bladder, urethra, vagina, and rectum) in their correct anatomic position.

In the simplest of descriptions, the knee is a joint comprised of three bones and held together by four ligaments. Its job is to support the body and allow for shock absorption.

The core is a set of deep postural muscles that assist the bones and ligaments to hold us up against gravity. These muscles... the transversus abdominus (TA), multifidus, pelvic floor, and the diaphragm... form a cylinder or tin can around our torso.
