Polyunsaturated fats are known as your Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) or as Vitamin F. Polyunsaturated fats come from corn oils, sunflower oils, flaxseed oils and certain fish oils among other sources.

Polyunsaturated Fats (PUFAs)
These include corn oil, evening primrose oil, grape seed oil, safflower oil, sesame oil, soya oil, sunflower oil, wheat germ, fish oil, mixed vegetable oil, flax or linseed oil and walnut oil.

Polyunsaturated Fats: Fats that do not have an effect in cholesterol levels. Most of the fats in vegetable oils, such as corn, cottonseed, safflower, soybean, and sunflower oil are polyunsaturated.

Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (Corn Oil, Soybean Oil, Flax Oil, CLA, Fish Oil) - At this point we should discuss the pro-oxidant potential of polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega 3s and 6s).

Polyunsaturated fats - also known as omega-3 fatty acids - are found in fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, herring and trout. Polyunsaturated fats are also found in flax seed and walnuts as well as soybean, corn, and safflower oils.

Polyunsaturated fat = oils containing two or more double or triple bonds per molecule. May help reduce blood cholesterol levels. Examples: soybean oil, canola oil, corn oil, safflower oil, fatty fish, walnuts, flaxseed.

As polyunsaturated fatty acids, both the omega-6 and the omega-3 families have more than one double bond in the carbon chain.

The long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids contained in breast milk may promote brain development counteracting the harmful effects of smoking on fetal development.

When you do choose foods that contain fat, you should select those that contain mostly monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat. Oils rich in monounsaturated fat include olive oil and canola oil.

Soy products that contain fat are rich in polyunsaturated fat called linoleic acid, which also has been shown to lower blood cholesterol.

Omega-3 fatty acids (a polyunsaturated fat) have anti-inflammatory, cardiovascular-enhancing and immune-regulating properties.

Many vegetable oils, nuts, and seeds contain omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids that improve the ratio between 'bad' and 'good' cholesterol. (When choosing oils, avoid partially-hydrogenated oils, which increase heart disease risk.

Polyunsaturated fat is found in soybean, corn, sesame and sunflower oils, or fish and fish oil. Monounsaturated fat is found in olives, olive oil or canola oil, most nuts and their oils, and avocados.

Stick to good fats like: monosaturated fats found in olive oil, nuts, peanut butter, and avocado, polyunsaturated fats found in flaxseed, corn, hemp, safflower, sesame, and sunflower oils, omega-3 fats found in cold-water living fish like salmon, ...

Hemp protein is one I that personally haven't tried. Hemp oils are a good source of polyunsaturated fatty acids. With regards to the protein compare it in terms of the amino acid profile and biological value.

Linoleic acid - An essential fatty acid and, more specifically, an omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid. Good sources of this fatty acid are safflower oil and soybean oil.

Fish contain high concentrations of a unique type of fat, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). In addition to lowering blood fats (triglycerides), studies suggest that omega-3 PUFAs make the blood more slippery and less likely to clot.

Polyunsaturated fats are usually liquid at room temperature and are found in vegetable oils such as safflower, sunflower, corn and soybean oils.

Antioxidant, especially protective of polyunsaturated fats and body tissues. Acts as a preservative, preventing many substances, such as Vitamin A, from destructive breakdown by oxidation in the body. Prolongs the life of red blood cells.
