Stored Triglycerides - Body Fat We Want to LOSE
While all cells contain some fat, it is mainly stored in muscle (intramuscular triglycerides) and in adipose tissue (body fat).

Triglycerides are composed of three fatty acids and a glycerol molecule. Fatty acids are either saturated, polyunsaturated or monounsaturated.

TRIGLYCERIDES
The scientific name for the common form of fat, found in both the body and in foods. Most body fat is stored in the form of triglycerides.

Triglycerides - a form of fat in your blood.
Total cholesterol levels below 200 mg/dl are desirable anything above 240 mg/dl is high and a risk factor. In between 200- 240 is borderline and should be lowered.

Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT)
MCT's are technically fats, but they have very unique properties. The difference between them and other fats lies in their molecular structure.

Medium Chain Triglycerides
MTC's are a special class of fatty acids . Normal fats and oils contain long-chain fatty acids (LCTs). Compared to these fatty acids, MCTs are much shorter in length. Therefore, they resemble carbohydrates more than fat.

Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT)
MCTs are a class of fatty acids occurring normally in oily foods which require less energy for uptake and storage in the body and are easier to digest and absorb than ordinary fats.

MCT - Medium Chain Triglycerides, caprylic acid source. Provides twice the energy power of proteins and carbohydrates and reduces muscle protein breakdown during recovery and healing.

Glycerol forms the backbone of triglycerides in the body. It is used in bars to help keep them soft and moist since glycerol is very good at drawing moisture. It also helps sweeten the bar.

Guggul significantly lowers serum triglycerides and cholesterol as well as LDL and VLDL cholesterols (the "bad" cholesterols). At the same time, it raises levels of HDL cholesterol (the "good" cholesterol).

To make a long story short, ingested fats are broken down in the stomach by lypolytic enzymes and emulsified by bile in the small intestin into phosophlipids, cholesterol's, and triglycerides and packed into chylomicrons then enter the bloodstream ...

aim: A cholesterol test determines the levels of cholesterol, triglycerides and other lipids in the blood, and the results can determine your risk factor for heart disease.

Exercise can raise good cholesterol (HDL) and lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides. These changes are heart healthy.
Take less insulin or diabetes pills. Activity can lower blood glucose and weight.

High levels of triglycerides - Physical activity helps reduce triglyceride levels. High triglycerides are linked to developing coronary artery disease in some people.

While such exercises will help you directly to burn fat, cholesterol levels decrease when triglycerides are reduced.

Triglycerides can be classed as long chain (meaning they contain fatty acids that have 16-22 carbon atoms) which are predominant in conventional dietary fat, ...

Fat Often referred to as lipids, or triglycerides, one of the main food groups, containing nine calories per gram. It serves a variety of functions in the body, however a high percentage of body fat has been proven to be bad for you.

Take the recommended amount of Omega 3 supplements because Omega 3 helps to reduce harmful cholesterol associated with Serum Triglycerides. Just read the label of the product that you are about to purchase to make sure the product is contaminant-free.

Low-density lipoprotein (LDL)- Transports cholesterol and triglycerides from the liver to be used in various cellular processes. Also referred to as “bad' cholesterol.

increased risk of inadequate intakes of vitamin E and essential fatty acids
may contribute to unfavorable changes in HDL and triglycerides

Nearly 40 research studies have examined various types of soy products and found significantly decreased serum concentration of total cholesterol, low-density lipoproteins and triglycerides when animal products are replaced by soy protein in the ...

Help control high blood pressure, by as much as 8 to 10 points in both systolic and diastolic pressure.
Improve blood lipids (cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides) along with other strategies (diet and medications).

Exercising regularly improves the ability of insulin to enter cells, so it lowers the risk of diabetes. It also lowers the risk of heart disease by improving blood clotting mechanisms, lowering triglycerides, and raising HDL (good) cholesterol.

Fish contain high concentrations of a unique type of fat, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). In addition to lowering blood fats (triglycerides), studies suggest that omega-3 PUFAs make the blood more slippery and less likely to clot.

Large concentrations of insulin in the bloodstream activate fat storage enzymes and promote the movement of triglycerides in the bloodstream into fat cells for storage.

Lipid [back to top] Another name for dietary fats or triglycerides.

Dietary fructose reduces circulating insulin and leptin, attenuates postprandial suppression of ghrelin, and increases triglycerides in women. Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 89, 2963-2972
