Acaulescent A plant that has no stem or appears to have no stem - though it may be hidden underground. Acid Soil Any soil with a pH reading below 7.0 on a scale of 1-14; the lower the reading, the more acid the soil.
acaulescent search for term- a. (Gr. a, without; kaulos, stalk) having no stem or seemingly without a stem.
Such plants are said to be stemless or acaulescent, such as Gerbera spp. (gerbera daisy). Crown is also the name for the base of the stems where roots arise.
