Be sure to include some large anchor plants that will look good all year. These are usually shrubs and often evergreens.
The first step is choosing the major anchor plants, such as shrubs and a background hedge, if appropriate. In the second phase, the herbaceous perennials that will provide most of the flower and foliage color and texture are selected.
ACCENT PLANT - This could be a focal point plant. A plant to catch attention. Could also be called an anchor plant. ACHEVE - A one seeded fruit which does not split open to release it's seed, ie. the "seeds" on a strawberry.
