As with picking any garden plant, it's crucial that the aquatics you pick for your water garden are healthy from the very start.
Aquatic plant
This can mean any water plant, but usually refers to those that grow in deep water, with their roots in the bottom of the pond or special baskets. Water lilies, Nymphaea, are the most popular.

Many aquatic plants require richly organic soil, but this is difficult to re-create in a pot. Use nonorganically amended clay soil instead and feed your plants with fertilizer tablets, available from water-garden supply stores.

Aquatic plants are numerous. There are floaters, marginal plants and underwater plants that you purchase for your water garden. The plants are maintenance-free.
