The arboretum now comprises 92 acres with over 13,000 plants of 2,500 types. Located in Chestnut Hill, it is the official arboretum of Pennsylvania. The grounds include various gardens.

The arboretum also features guided tours for school children and an artist-in-residence program, as well as opportunities for research scientists and students from around the world.
