The one-inch-long Asian longhorned beetle is threatening many deciduous tree species in the Northeast. To contain the spread of the beetle, affected trees and susceptible host trees in the vicinity are being removed.

 


The borough of Brooklyn has the unfortunate honor of being the first place that the Asian Longhorned Beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis) was spotted in the United States.
