Known by their long thin branches that sprout verdant fan-shaped leaves, many varieties of palms are large enough to fill a large atrium-style room or poolside garden.

Camellias make great foundation plants where they can be shaded or protected by large trees. They are beautiful in corners, on patios, as hedges, in atriums and stand-alone. Camellias love pine trees and pine groves.

I do want the summersweet (Clethra alnifolia) by my patio to stay small and compact, and I'd like flowers covering the entire 'Comtesse de Bouchaud' clematis in my atrium, not just the top four feet.
