Aucuba japonica normally grows up to 15feet, but you could keep it pruned if you felt like dealing with it on a yearly basis. Personally, I give Aucuba two thumbs down. (Maybe only one thumb down for A. japonica variegata, the Gold Dust Tree.

Goldstrike' Aucuba japonica, originally from New Zealand. A shade lover, it has large glossy green leaves heavily splashed with gold markings, a much more intense variegation than on most gold-dusts.

You can also use holly, boxwood, nandina, aucuba and magnolia leaves. Remember, these cuttings will dry out quickly if they are not in water. For smaller arrangements for indoors, try to keep the ends in water and away from heat sources.
