'Green Cascade' really deserves some defense for its good characteristics, primarily its strong weeping nature. Its buds produce shoots with just one goal: head straight to the center of the Earth. There are no tendrils and no twining.

Rodanthe 'Paper Cascade' can be grown as a feature in your garden, as plant in a border or in a hanging basket. This versatile everlasting daisy is a rewarding plant to grow.

The cascade style of bonsai represents a natural tree growing down the face of an embankment. A cascaded planting usually looks best in a round or hexagonal container.

Semi-cascade is basically the same as cascade; however, the tree shoots over the pot's rim without reaching below its base. Many species are suitable such as juniper and weeping cherry.

Nasturtium cascades from a container of parsley and pineapple sage, and it's edible too. The colorful annual comes in yellows, oranges and reds and keeps blooming through the summer, but it won't stand up to intense heat in the South.

Most vines need some kind of support, whether it be a trellis, fence, or wall. But many vines are equally appealing when allowed to cascade down a slope or trail over a retaining wall.

Use this herbal groundcover in the garden to edge beds with a feathery, fast-spreading quilt or to cascade artfully over the rim of containers. German chamomile is a bushy beauty that's a favorite among bees and butterflies.

Windowboxes are designed for annuals, especially ones that cascade over the sides. The same holds true for hanging containers, where trailing varieties, such as the old-fashioned nasturtium Empress of India', hang down and make a pretty display.
