Chloroplast - The organelle in plants and some protists that absorbs sunlight and uses the enery to synthesis organic compunds from CO2 and H2O.

chloroplast A specialized component of certain cells. Contains chlorophyll and is responsible for photosynthesis.
chlorosis An abnormal yellowing of a leaf.

Sun leaves have fewer chloroplasts and thus less chlorophyll. Their chloroplasts are located deep inside the leaves and the leaves are thick, small and large in number.

Without it, chloroplasts (the tiny cell structures that make your plant green) can't provide enough nutrients and energy to your fig. Leaves turning yellow or yellow-green when environmental factors are normal may indicate a deficiency in nitrogen.

CHLOROPHYLL
Chlorophyll is the green pigment in leaves. Chlorophyll pigment is produced in the chloroplasts of leaf, stem and flower cells. Chlorophyll pigment dominates all other pigments present including the xanthophylls and carotenes.

Cell - the base structural unit that plants are made of: Cells contain a nucleus, membrane, and chloroplasts.
Cellulose - a complex carbohydrate that stiffens a plant: Tough stems contain stiff cellulose.
CFM - Cubic feel per minute.

Structures within a cell, such as a mitochondria, ribosomes or chloroplast, each performing a specific function.
Organic fertilizer ...

And they have an alga that can "teach chloroplasts in leaves to work better. Thus they are close to engineering an energy-efficient crop plant that can protect itself against pests and make its own fertilizer.

(L. from Gr. killa, glue, and enchyma, an infusion) living, supportive tissue with chloroplasts generally just beneath the surface consisting or more or less elongated cells usually thickened unevenly in a manner somewhat variable in different ...

Photosynthesis The process by which the chloroplasts in plant cells use sunlight to convert carbon dioxide from the air with water vapor to form carbohydrates that are used as the basic food stuff for the growth of the plant.
