Cotton crops are among the most widely sprayed, typically with inorganic herbicides and pesticides. If you prefer to grow organically, some sources sell organic (unsprayed) cottonseed meal, including Hoffman's.
Cottonseed meal is a by-product of cotton manufacturing. As a fertilizer, it produces a somewhat acidic reaction; consequently, it is frequently used for fertilizing acid-loving plants such as azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons.

Mix thoroughly together in a large tub or pot, depending on what you have on hand.
Use a fertilizer such as dried manure, cottonseed meal, or a balanced commercial fertilizer such as 5-10-10. When you're selecting fertilizer for these crops, be sure it doesn't contain too much nitrogen.
