Prevent cross pollination by growing only one species of plant
One method is to only grow one variety of a species in your garden. Cross pollination is unlikely to happen if there is only one variety of a species of plant in your garden.

Maltese Cross Blossom
Maltese Cross was named because its four petals formed a cross, but I always see it with five petals. Perhaps it's one of the "bigger, better" hybrids.

Maltese Cross, also called Jerusalem Cross, is a sharp looking, attractive red flower. They are drought tolerant and easy to grow. Maltese Cross are perfect to brighten up your flower garden. The flowers will attract butterflies in the summer months.

Cross Pollination

Cross-Section Plan
If you have a sloping garden and want to make changes to it, you may need a plan to show the impact of these alterations. For steeply sloping yards, hire a land surveyor to draw a cross-section, or elevation plan.

What Is Cross-Pollination?
Cross-pollination is the transfer of pollen from the flower of one plant to the flower of another individual to fertilize it. Often this is accomplished by an insect or other animal pollinator.

Cross-species transfers between fish and tomatoes, or other unrelated species that would not have happened in nature may create new toxins, diseases, and weaknesses that can spread across species barriers.

Cross-Pollination
When pollen transfers from the flower of one plant to that of another. Generally used to refer to a situation where varieties mix by such means.

CROSS: Another name for hybrid, but used in much more common terms.
CROSS POLLINATION: the transfer of pollen from one plant to the stigma of another plant.

Cross-pollination doesn't mean that you will end up with weird-looking hybrid fruits.

Aerating Cross-Section
The need for aerating a lawn generally stems from compacting from heavy use such as foot traffic, automobiles, etc..

The only cross that can show up the first year is corn. Sweet corn can easily cross with field corn, which produces starchy-tasting corn the same season.

Look for crossing branches and remove the smaller of the two, unless the smaller one is growing in a more desirable direction. Branches that touch will damage each other by constantly rubbing together.
