The spotted cucumber beetle (Diabrotica undecimpunctata) is expanding its range northward along the Front Range.

Cucumber Beetle: Natural predators include Soldier Beetle, Tachinid Fly and Braconid Wasp. Planting your beans later in the season, when they will germinate and establish more quickly, can help you fight this bug.

The Cucumber Beetle is the dreaded pest of cucumbers. Cucumber Beetles are either striped or spotted. They feed on the leaves of the plants, and spread disease from one plant to another. Treat early with insecticides.

Controlling cucumber beetles is the key to prevention. Look for varieties of cucumbers and squash that are resistant to cucumber beetles. Cover young plants with floating row covers.

Cucumber beetle is a yellow or greenish yellow beetle with black spots or stripes that feed on the leaves and blossoms. The beetle infects the plant with bacterial wilt which causes the plant to wilt and die when half grown.

Striped and spotted cucumber beetles are the worst of them. Both pests are elongated, around ΒΌ an inch long and have beaded antennae.
