These shrubs look very similar, with alternate, smooth-edged leaves, urn-shaped flowers, and dark fruits, and their differentiation has eluded many a woodland wanderer. Both blueberries and huckleberries honor their filial ties and grow together.

Primordium- An organ, a cell, or an organized series of cells in their earliest stage of differentiation, e.g., leaf primordium, sclereid primordium, vessel primordium.

This is because they are used more to complement the stones in the garden, not hide them. You can throw in some shade trees or backdrop plants for size differentiation, but all other plants for rock gardens should be small.

Disk flowers cover the remainder of the head and are regular, symmetrical, and usually less showy. Heads may also have flowers which are all irregular with no differentiation into rays and disks.
