Symptoms Drooping leaves. Confusingly this can be because of either a lack of water or too much water.
Prevention/Control: Investigate the cause and either apply water or allow plants to dry out.

Cernuous Drooping or nodding.

Thanks to its drooping habit, the classic Boston fern is ideal for hanging baskets.

Premature petal drop may be due to age, temperature, water problems or ethylene exposure.

Yellow, spotted or drooping petals or leaves are a sign of age. Dark or mushy tips may signal an old flower. The water should smell fresh and clean and a strong odour may mean the stems have begun to decay, shortening the life of the bloom.

The branches are spreading to drooping. The needles are dark green or blue green, 1 to 1 ½ inches long, soft to the touch and radiate out in all directions from the branch. They have a sweet fragrance when crushed.

The stems hold clusters of drooping, trumpet shaped flowers. The light colored foliage looks good against darker green plants such as hosta or wild ginger. The flower clusters start off as light pink buds that change to blue as they mature.

How to prune plum trees - Drooping varieties:
Certain varieties have a drooping habit. Although during the early years this factor need not influence pruning unduly, as the tree becomes established the drooping tendency will be more pronounced.

Pendulous Weeping, drooping branches make the pendulous forms ideal focal points in beds or borders. Tsuga canadensis 'Pendula' - Canadian Hemlock, 5 feet tall by 7 feet wide.

Don't let the flower bud's drooping habbit fool you into thinking the plant is thirsty - it is just a characteristic of the Flax plant. Flax re-seed easily on their own.

The only other care tip to keep in mind is that if you have the taller African marigolds, they may need to be staked in mid or late summer as they get tall and leggy, to keep them from breaking, drooping or falling over.

A tree will absorb as much as a gallon of water or more in the first 24 hours and one or more quarts a day thereafter. Water is important because it prevents the needles from drying and dropping off and the boughs from drooping.
