FIBROUS-ROOTED -- A root system which contains many thin roots rather than a single tap root.
FLAT -- A shallow box or tray used to start cuttings or seedlings.

Anemones are long-lived, fibrous-rooted perennials. The base of the plant is a dark green clump, which produces leaves covered with soft hairs. The low foliage clumps look nice from the moment they emerge in spring until frost enforces their dormancy.

These fibrous-rooted plants tolerate shade, drought, and humidity and spend the entire season smothered in a wealth of handsome little open-faced flowers.
