Foliar Feeding
Foliar feeding is a marvellous way of rapidly getting nutrient into a plant if you want to give it a quick boost, or if it shows signs of a trace element deficiency.

Foliar feeding is a good way to get absorption within minutes of application. When the soil is still too cold for the microorganisms to convert the nutrients into available forms, use foliar feeding.

Foliar feeding (applying fertilizer solutions through leaf pores) can supply nutrients to your plants immediately. It is especially effective for giving fast growing plants, like vegetables, an extra boost during the growing season.

Apply the tea over the foliage of plants that tolerate foliar feeding well. You can use compost tea in addition to or in lieu of your regular fertilizer regimen.

Sunroots aren't especially demanding, but they appreciate a layer of mulch to conserve moisture. If growth seems a bit stunted, try foliar feeding with a hose-attached fertilizer sprayer. Pests are comparatively few so spraying shouldn't be necessary.

Foliar feeding with a water-soluble fertilizer absorbed through the foliage and applied with a hose-end sprayer gives plants the quickest boost, but avoid applying in hot weather or it may burn the leaves of your plants.

Feeding: As with any long blooming annual, pansies appreciate some fertilizer. However too much food will just make them leggy. They respond well to monthly foliar feeding.

This will produce a manure tea for foliar feeding.
