GROWING HABIT - A direction or shape a plant takes as it grows.
GROWING POINT - The area where the new growth occurs. When a plant is pinched and the new shoots then develop, this is the growing point.

 


The suitability of a plant to use as a ground cover is determined by it's growing habits, not necessarily by size or by height. Typically, ground covers sprawl, spread, run, or colonize by reseeding.

When choosing flowers to combine with cosmos consider varieties that feature colors and growing habits that suit your taste and space requirements and need the same light and moisture conditions as cosmos.

Bedding plants are really all plants that, irrespective of their growing habits, are used to make a temporary show.
