Types of Soilless Growing Mediums
Some of the most common soilless growing mediums include peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, and sand. Generally, these mediums are mixed together rather than used alone, as each usually provides its own function.

 


Lava Rock is a very good growing medium for orchids. It does not rot, is well aerated and retains water. The only problem with lava rock is that it tends to accumulate mineral salts.
