My basil has a little green worm. I have been using Pure Castile soap and water to spray it but have not been able to get rid of what is eating my plant. I have also seen green spiders and green grass hoppers.

Diagnosis: Flea beetles
Solution: Install a row cover over your lettuce immediately after sowing or transplanting to exclude flea beetles from your crop. Row covers also help control thrips, leaf hoppers and aphids.

Care must be taken to distinguish this pest damage from similarly manifested damage caused by leafhopper injury, chemical injury, leaf-roller activity and aphid feeding. There is no way to undo the damage once it has occurred.
