Horticulturists at West Virginia University Extension advise spraying the foliage of broadleaf evergreen shrubs with something to discourage wilting (wilt inhibitors can be found at a local garden center).

Now, this very successful method of propagation can now be used on all woody plants, both indoors and outdoors. Horticulturists, gardeners no longer have to put up with the distressing failure rates associated with cuttings.
