Water Wisteria has chrysanthemum-like foliage and pretty blue flowers, but Hygrophila 'Rosea' has larger leaves with decorative marbled foliage. Copperleaf Alternanthera reinekii is a popular plant because of its vibrant burgundy-pink foliage.

The plant: This fairly recent introduction from England produces huge quantities of two-inch-wide violet-blue flowers and lightly marbled foliage. The mounding plant blooms from May or June to October and is tolerant of heat and humidity.

Arching pointed leaves up to 12 inches long, usually marbled with white or cream, grow out of a canelike stem.

Unlike most wild gingers, with their cute, small leaves, this evergreen Asian ginger has large, marbled leaves and is robust enough to hold its own in my woodland garden.

The vines of the Rosary plant are like thin wires with marbled, heart shaped leaves. They will reach two to four feet in length. The slender flowers resemble an inverted, small pink vase. The end of the tube is partly closed by delicate purple bars.

Foliage is marbled, mottled, or dappled with spots in white or silver. This woodland garden includes two blue-flowered lungworts: Pulmonaria Glacier and Pulmonaria Benediction.

A metallic sheen over near-black, marbled foliage gives this recent introduction the look of pewter. Sparse sprays of tiny pink flowers appear in late spring. Good in sun or partial shade. Busse Gardens, Van Bourgondien Bros.

Snow Angel Coral Bells (Heuchera sanguinea 'Snow Angel') adds immense charm with low-growing mounds of foliage marbled with light cream variegation. This is an excellent plant for part shade or shade and drier conditions.

'Isis Candy' Marbled red-orange fruit. 'Matt's Wild Cherry' Early red cherry/grape prized for flavor. 'Super Sweet 100' VF hybrid with sweet red fruit. 'Cupid' Fast hybrid red grape. Favorite of the OG test garden.

Common horseradish may be the only variety you will find. There is also Armoracia 'Variegata', which is more ornamental, with marbled leaves.
