The germination and maturation of our first patch of mesclun was nearly as exciting as the eating. The Mild Mix contained a number of unusual greens, with mizuna sprouting first, followed by purslane, orach, chervil, mache and claytonia.

PHOSPHORUS - stimulates root growth and promotes fruit and seed maturation. Good sources are soft rock phosphate or bone meal. Deficiencies are indicated by purple leaves, brittle roots, skinny stems and late fruit set and maturity.
