These naturalistic prairie and meadow gardens can fit in just about sunny garden space. You may choose to plant that meadow in your side yard to accompany that frontyard cottage garden.

Meadow gardening is in its infancy and replete with pitfalls, but I hope that my own home experience will make your first experience with meadows more successful.

Meadow gardens and is there a "faster" way to establish them?
Three season gardens are gardens that are in bloom through spring, summer and fall.

In a native meadow garden, wildflowers bloom abundantly throughout the season. Most meadows include both native grasses as well as wildflowers.

Its native North American roots make 'Goldsturm' a natural for meadow gardens providing nectar for butterflies and seeds for overwintering birds.

John - I have your terrific book "The American Meadow Garden" and love it. But I don't live in California and wonder which grasses/sedges would work in the Catskills in New York, zone 5?
