MILORGANITE
Milorganite is a type of sewage/sludge fertilizer first produced and marketed in Milwaukee. The fertilizer analysis is 5-2-0 and slightly acidic.

This is sewage plant sludge from Milwaukee, WI. It is safe and sold as a 6-2-0 fertilizer. When used on turf areas around rhododendron beds at half the normal rate for turf, it deters deer from the area.
Milorganite 6-2-0 contains 4 percent organically chelated iron. This source doesn't stain walks, drives or other concrete surfaces and is readily available to grass.

Sludge (or Milorganite®) -- While it has a slight odor, dried sludge is safe to use and mostly odorless. It may be added to the soil or compost pile.

Never use manures from any animal that eats meat (this includes humans). And never use sewage sludge or milorganite (human waste from sewage treatment plants).
Scatter Milorganite, a fertilizer made from sewer effluent, around ornamental plants that deer favor (not recommended for vegetable or herb gardens).
