Rhapis multifida commonly known as 'Jade Empress or the Finger Palm' is an elegant palm from shady forests in the Guangxi (Kwangsi) province of southern China. This palm makes a superb indoor plant.

x multifida). The deeply lobed, dark green leaves are palm shaped and not as wispy as the cypress vine's. Hummingbirds love the 2-inch crimson blossoms.

Cardinal Climber (Ipomoea x multifida) beautiful annual twining vine with vivid crimson trumpet shaped flowers that hummingbirds can't seem to leave alone.

Cardinal climber (I. multifida). Similar to scarlet climber (listed below) but with less delicate, more palmlike foliage.

Three species of lady palms are widely used in home and office interiors: Rhapis excelsa, R. multifida and R. humilis.

quamoclit (cypress vine) produces a profusion of tiny bright-crimson trumpets amid feathery leaves; the plant grows 12 to 25 feet. I. quamoclit X multifida (cardinal climber) attains about 20 feet and produces red flowers amid deeply cut foliage.

Cardinal vine, Ipomoea x multifida has a slightly larger, more funnel shaped flower, almost like a miniature morning glory but in bright red, it has a wider leaf blade than the cypress vine. It will also grow at least 10 feet tall.

Plenty of people grow morning glories (Ipomoea purpurea and I. tricolor) and their close relatives, moonflower (I. alba) and cardinal climber (I. x multifida). But that scarcely scratches the surface of great climbers..
