Nozzle
There are many styles, types and designs of nozzles. Some are made to deliver a soft water shower so plants and small bushes aren't harmed during watering. Others are designed to produce a high-pressure stream of water.
A water nozzle is attached to the end of a water hose and used to manually direct water where it is needed. A tube water nozzle is shaped like a cylinder with an outer section that turns to open the nozzle and adjust the water flow.
Take the nozzle out and use like a box kite. Or blow them up like balloons.

Sav-A-Drop Nozzle
It's easy to know what a gallon is when it's in the refrigerator, but out in the garden, estimating can be difficult. This innovative nozzle has a built-in digital meter to help deliver the right amount of water every time.
Irrigation nozzles are fairly inexpensive and easy to change out even for beginners. They simply screw off the end of the stem that pops up when the irrigation system comes on.
Get a spray nozzle of the type found with most spray bottles. Hold the spray nozzle down and secure it in that position with duct tape. Secure the spray nozzle at the same level as the roots of the plants inside the tub.
Set the spray nozzle on your garden hose to the setting providing the strongest concentrated stream available and use it to "GRADE" the mud channel so that the mud flows downhill from stump.

When your whole yard is parched by dry weather, and the plants that wilted in the midday sun the day before are still drooping first thing the following morning, they are in dire need of irrigation.
The fertilizer in the bottle or container is in concentrated liquid form, and must have the power of the hose nozzle, along with the water, to work.
Use a breaker-nozzle on your hose to create a shower-like stream of water.
Mulch your new plants to protect them and to retain moisture once the seeds have germinated.
With the new head in the ground, it's now time to insert a nozzle in it. Determine what size nozzle you need by finding another sprinkler head on the same zone that waters a similar pattern (i.e., a full- or half circle) and match it.
Consider soaker hoses, soil needles, or soft spray nozzles. On hard or compacted soils, soak, wait and soak again to avoid water runoff. Be especially careful with soil needles, also known as deep root feeders.
The variety of optional nozzles for different types of spraying is a strong feature. Several multi-head nozzles are available, as well as a long-distance single type, and an adjustable pistol grip.
Long before hoses, spray nozzles, and sprinklers became standard weapons in the gardener's aqua arsenal, watering cans were the tool of choice.
There is usually an adjustment at the nozzle to make a fine mist or a course spray, depending upon the application you desire.
Most nozzles in hardware stores are intended for watering the lawn or washing the car. Plants need more delicate care and water wands are my choice for a garden nozzle.
Use a shut-off nozzle on your hose which can be adjusted down to a fine spray, so that water flows only as needed. When finished, turn it off at the faucet instead of at the nozzle, to avoid leaks.
Don't forget to flush hoses and nozzles. Sprayers must be kept clean and in good working order. Nozzles should be replaced when they begin to show signs of wear. Pesticide application equipment comes in all shapes, sizes, types, and prices.
Examine the spray control valve and nozzle assemblies for broken or deteriorated gaskets. Inspect check valves at the bottom of the pump cylinder. Broken or damaged gaskets must be replaced for the sprayer to work properly.

They say there are two camps -- the nozzleheads and the foot-stompers (Those who spray, and those who don't). But it is more than that. It comes down to a personal decision on what you choose to do in your own yard.
A spray head or wand is a must and I'm really fond of these dialing nozzle types that turn the hose into a lot of different tools.
If drip irrigation isn't an option for you right now, consider hand-watering your plants using a garden hose fitted with a rainfall nozzle.
It can be rigged so one or more drip nozzles deliver water to individual plants or containers (the pipes can be buried.) It's a very adaptable system and can be designed to cover any size and shape of garden.
First, use special potting mix, a watering can with a fine nozzle and bonsai fertilizer. Also, remember that bonsai grow best in little soil that is slightly mounded. Make sure not to blow off the dry soil when you water.

Once you have completed the fertilizing, give your garden a moderate soaking with your sprinkler or hose nozzle to dissolve and distribute the fertilizer through out the soil.
Potting mixes can be easily washed out of the container, so never water with a direct stream of water from a hose. Always use a breaker nozzle to soften the stream of water or a sprinkling can.
