bedding plant - Gardening Plants (mainly annuals), nursery grown and suitable for
growing in beds. Quick, colorful flowers.
biennial - A plant that usually only lives two years, normally producing Gardening supply need.
You can begin with nursery grown plants in spring, or start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before your last spring frost. Plants always flower the first year they are planted, and are winter hardy to Zone 6.
To ensure their future in our forests, be careful to purchase native plants from reputable sources that state "nursery propagated" and not merely "nursery grown.
According to the NFBIC, "Given a day or two of acclimation to colder temperatures, even nursery grown plants can handle mid-spring weather if protected from the wind and extreme cold.
