Obovate - opposite of ovate, with the narrower part near the base.
Cuneate - wedge-shaped, broad at the tip and tapering by nearly straight lines to an acute angle at the base.

Therefore it grows vigorously in cool-temperate gardens. It grows as a open, upright or spreading shrub with obovate to oblong leaves which are up to 10 cm long and dark green above and blue-green beneath.
