Odoriferous

Gardening OccidentalisOffset

An odoriferous, creeping plant, ground ivy can spread over an area quickly by rooting at the lower nods. The circular leaves are scalloped on the edges and distinctly veined. Produced in the axils of the leaves are the purplish-blue, tubular flowers.

Personally, I can't help but notice the odoriferous Bradford pear trees that appear on nearly every street corner in my area. I always know when they begin to bloom because three are planted right beside the ATM outside my bank.

Rose water is basically an aqueous solution of some of the odoriferous constituents of rose flowers. One low-tech way to make it is to soak rose petals in water for a couple of weeks, with some alcohol added as a preservative.
