Preform (pond)
A tough moulded unit, usually made from fibreglass, and available in a variety of formal or irregular shapes. Some can be linked to create a pool with several sections, sometimes joined by a waterfall or cascade.
Preformed Already with definite shape or structure, as with leaves within a bud.
Prehensile Clasping, coiling in response to touch.
Pricking out Transplanting small seedlings into larger trays or containers.
Division. Preformed in the spring or in fall after growing season, division is usually done on cool climate ornamental grasses. Plants which have "die-out" in the center show an indication that division is needed.

Building a Simple Water Garden (With a Preformed Liner)
Garden ponds offer a whole new layer of color, texture and sound to the landscape. Building an aquatic garden on your own may sound intimidating, but it's not as difficult as you might think.
For a preformed pond unit, make the area slightly larger and deeper than the pond unit. Shovel the soil out well away from the edge so it can't sink back in easily.
Core aeration should not be preformed on lawns that are totally brown/dormant as the result of water restrictions. It is unlikely that plugs can even be pulled from hard soil unless soaked by several days of intensive watering.
Today, most gardeners and professional landscapers use a preformed liner made from fiberglass or plastic, or a flexible, cut-to-fit liner made from PVC or butyl rubber.

You can choose a liner shaped to fit your planter or hanging basket or use the preformed coconut coir that can be placed over top of the container and then pressed down inside, conforming to the shape of the container.
